It’s been a while since I’ve done a Wine Wednesday post and I was really planning on saving this one until it was officially October, but I just couldn’t help myself this week. I know I’ve talked about ONEHOPE Wine in the past here, but since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and 50% of the profits from this Robert Mondavi Jr. crafted Chardonnay benefit that great cause, I figured it was the right time to talk about one of my favorites. Being that I’m not the biggest fan of an overly-buttery Chardonnay, I love that this one (with fresh aromas of apple blossom and honeysuckle – mmm!) has a fairly light finish with the flavors of crisp pear and apple. Pair this wine with broiled or grilled seafood, poultry dishes and a wide assortment of cheeses.
However, what I think I might really love the most about this wine is that for every $100 raised in October from the sale of ONEHOPE Chardonnay a mammogram is funded to an underprivileged woman for early stage Breast Cancer detection and prevention through the National Breast Cancer Foundation. If you purchase the wine online you can see exactly how much money has been raised and the direct impact you’re having on women’s lives. Additionally, if you book an at home wine tasting party through their Hope at Home program during the month of October, one free mammogram is donated to a woman in need. I LOVE everything about this program. How amazing is it that you can have a huge impact on someone’s life by hosting a wine party with some friends? Grab a few ladies, host your own Hope at Home party, raise a little money for charity and make a difference. I’m super excited to see how much money is raised next month. Check in here for updates throughout the month of October.
