Guys. The weather in LA has been INsane. I can’t handle the heat for another day and wish to god it would just finally cool off. Beth and I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market over the weekend and it was 102 – ONE-0-TWO!!! It was the first time I had been to the Rose Bowl Flea and I had no idea what to expect. Little did I know that almost the entire market takes place on blacktop and that I was going to be sweating from the moment I stepped out of the car. While it was such a fun adventure and I scored some amazing finds, there were a few moments when I actually and seriously thought I was going to have a heat stroke. Something like this probably would have done the trick and made the day a little better. How gorgeous are they?! I just might have to invest in a popsicle mold if this heat keeps up. The weekends are way, way too short. AmIRight?! Where did it go? I actually can’t believe that Monday has already come and passed too. Jake and I just had our first weekend at home together in over 3 weeks. No commitments, no events, no obligations. YES. We stuck around Hermosa for the entire weekend, caught up, went to the beach and worked on a few projects. It was just how I like it! The Discovery Channel was hosting their first annual Fin Fest to launch Shark Week and had an impromptu, free Jimmy Buffett concert on the sand so we wandered down to the beach and that’s about it! I also just recently got a new camera lens so I was having some fun with that. Check out a few of my favorite moments from the weekend:

One of my favorite pass-times in Los Angeles is running or walking along The Strand in Manhattan and Hermosa Beach. I think the beaches in LA’s South Bay are hands down the most beautiful in the area as the terrain changes from completely flat to hills and bluffs with roughly 100 yards of sand before the water. The South Bay is probably one of my favorite places in the world and keeps me calling this crazy city home on the days when I’m ready to throw in the towel and move to New York… or San Francisco… or Austin 😉
Aside from walking or running from a fitness and sanity-saving perspective, it’s also where I go to recharge and look for inspiration. I love looking at the varying architecture of the homes on the beach from total shacks (that are merely investment properties waiting to be cashed in), to ultra modern, to Mediterranean, to grey and white Cape Cod beauties. There is one home in particular that I pass often with NanaWalls that completely open up to the ocean. On the days when the residents are home and have the doors open, I always take a quick peek at their absolutely stunning, elegant, beach-inspired decor. In their family room, situated around their gorgeous coffee table is a white sofa (I die) and four spindle chairs. Spindle chairs are so versatile, but look exceptional when they take residence in a light and airy coastal home. After one of my morning walks, I decided to look them up… just a little research for our hopefully future home 😉 From Williams Sonoma at a striking $1,295 to ZGallerie at a significantly lower $599 (+ $299 ottoman if you’re interested), the range was substantial and a reminder to always look for a better deal.

So this happened over the weekend…..
Yes. That is real life. I’m still having a hard time processing it. I, like every girl in the entire world have been obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio for as long as I can remember. And on Saturday, all of my wildest fantasies dreams came true. Well, almost.
Huge thanks to BAFTA for always choosing ONEHOPE Wine for their BAFTA LA Pre Golden Globes Tea Party (Leo was drinking our Chardonnay). I was able to chat with him for a brief 10 seconds where instead of chumming it up about something original and memorable (my amazing former boss, Bonnie is credited for discovering him), I was so starstruck and overwhelmed that I could only formulate a measly, “Congratulations! Your performance in Wolf of Wall Street was absolutely unbelievable…. I loved every minute. I’m Megan, by the way, from ONEHOPE Wine… you’re drinking our Chardonnay… thank you so much for the support. Do you mind if we take a picture together? I would love that so much.” Like EVERYONE. Else. There. FAIL. He was so kind, so gorgeous, smiled during our entire 10 second exchange (please, just make me melt even more), but immediately after taking the picture, I was pushed and shoved away by the rest of the women swarming him… and that was it.
