Ohhhh Leo…

January 13, 2014

Screen Shot 2014-01-13 at 11.12.07 AM
So this happened over the weekend…..

Yes.  That is real life.  I’m still having a hard time processing it. I, like every girl in the entire world have been obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio for as long as I can remember.  And on Saturday, all of my wildest fantasies dreams came true.  Well, almost.

Huge thanks to BAFTA for always choosing ONEHOPE Wine for their BAFTA LA Pre Golden Globes Tea Party (Leo was drinking our Chardonnay).  I was able to chat with him for a brief 10 seconds where instead of chumming it up about something original and memorable (my amazing former boss, Bonnie is credited for discovering him), I was so starstruck and overwhelmed that I could only formulate a measly, “Congratulations!  Your performance in Wolf of Wall Street was absolutely unbelievable…. I loved every minute.  I’m Megan, by the way, from ONEHOPE Wine… you’re drinking our Chardonnay… thank you so much for the support.  Do you mind if we take a picture together?  I would love that so much.”   Like EVERYONE. Else. There.  FAIL.  He was so kind, so gorgeous, smiled during our entire 10 second exchange (please, just make me melt even more), but immediately after taking the picture, I was pushed and shoved away by the rest of the women swarming him… and that was it.

Did I mention that I love him?  <3 <3 <3

Happy Monday!

My Work on Style Me Pretty Living

November 29, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!!!  Following a grueling drive from LA to SF on Wednesday, Jake and I were so happy to have arrived in one piece in time for a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.  It has truly been a tremendous year that has flown by, but aside from feeling a little huge over-indulged at the moment, my heart is full knowing that those around us (as well as ourselves) are healthy, happy and on their way to big things.  On the business side, I could not be more grateful to Style Me Pretty Living for featuring a cocktail I created for work this fall.  It was one of my favorites that we did and is something light and refreshing to enjoy this weekend… a little change of pace following the holiday yet it’s still bursting with fall flavor and won’t disappoint 🙂 If someone told me 6 years ago as an International Relations major in Michigan itching for some ounce of creativity in my life, that I would be designing, styling and photographing fun spreads for a living, I never would have believed them.  Seeing this feature was definitely a pinch me moment of gratitude.  Here’s to a wonderful weekend filled with thanks and reflection.  Cheers!

Oh hello!  Happy Monday!  I’ve been a little MIA and apologize there.  My best friend from high school got married over the weekend and her sister, who was the maid of honor, is very pregnant with twins and couldn’t travel last minute.  She asked me to step up to the plate and it was such a whirlwind of a weekend.  There were some stressful moments, but everything ended up perfectly and  I could not be happier for my friend and her amazing new husband.  They met during our first week of college and are truly a perfect match.  I’m such a sucker for love and seeing them so happy on their day made my heart burst with joy.  Eeeee!  Even thinking about it still brings tears to my eyes.  I’ll be sure to share more there as soon as we get some pictures 🙂

On the work front, this week is going to be a big one as we plan a holiday crafts + cocktails photo shoot.  I’m SO excited for it.  I’ve pretty much been using the above image for every ounce of inspiration for styling this thing… everything about it is perfection.  The rustic textured table, the simple rosemary place settings and green + gold + white/neutral is my FAVORITE color palette on the planet.  So many ideas flowing… Time to get to work!

Hope your week is off to a great start!

xoxo

Monday Inspiration

October 28, 2013

c4e5f2d41440c53ab113ae7490353fe4

Just wanted to pass along a little inspiration for your Monday…. a reminder to always follow your dreams.  I learned that a good friend from high school passed away last week while I was home for the weekend in Michigan and the news hit me like a ton of bricks.  I was speechless.  There were so many things left open ended, so many questions that were never answered and so many words that were never spoken.  One thing I know is that it was Dave’s dream to save the world… I just wish we had been able to save him first.  It’s been a tough 24 hours and this has kept me going.  I think he’d really love it.

Hold your loved ones close, take the time to listen, always follow your heart and turn your dreams into your destiny.

With love,

Meg

I’m sorry, but did someone say it’s OCTOBER?!  Where has this year gone??  2013 has been so busy, frustrating, rewarding, exhausting and completely all consuming, but I miss blogging so much that I absolutely must make the time for it.  I’m a firm believer that if you aren’t doing what you love, than you might as well be doing nothing at all… I LOVE this little creative outlet of mine and it’s time that I start showing up here every once in a while.  My goal is to post every few days (even if it’s just a short snippet, update or something currently inspiring) and see where it takes me, but I can’t wait to hang out with you again 🙂

Busy Bee

March 22, 2013

Lavendar

I haven’t forgotten about you… I promise.  I’ve just been a bit of a busy bee and this year took off by storm.  Truthfully, this blog used to be my creative outlet and now my job involves so much creative that sometimes I feel like I’m filled to the creativity brim by the end of the day.  I’m a lucky girl 😉

I do have a few exciting things in the works that I can’t wait to share.  I’ll be sure to post a few fun updates next week.  Have a great weekend!
